Pastor's Updates

Merry Christmas, Friends of the Sister Bay Moravian Church!

luminaria

I want to pause and say thank you to so many for the hard work, extra time and energy required to create a beautiful and meaningful Christmas season for us and for our community:

Thank you Kim Larson and Diane Ludwigsen for your investment and leadership in motivating our music ministry—not just during the month of December but all year long.

Thank you to Sheila Petroni for making sure our facility is clean, warm and cared for.

Thank you to the youth who played in the Youth Ensemble, piano solos, drums. Thanks also to the parents who brought them in for extra practice.
Thanks to many of the same youth who helped distribute candles on Christmas Eve.

Thank you Karen Krauss for coordinating the candle distribution on Christmas Eve.

Thanks to everyone who came out to set up the luminaries on Saturday.

Thank you Kathy Kirkland for keeping things straight in the office and making sure all of the bulletins were ready to go.

In short, there are a lot of people who contribute a lot of time and energy in the month of December—and especially the week right before Christmas—to make sure the heart of this congregation is visible. I deeply appreciate the Spirit that moves us in these days.

The Week Ahead
1/1/17       Sunday Worship (yes, that is literally all that is going on around here this week…)
1/8/17       Sunday Worship with Holy Communion in Celebration of the Epiphany
1/15/17     Sunday Worship with the Commissioning of Sally Pfeifer and Pastor Kerry as missionaries. We depart for Ahuas, Honduras on 1/19.

Prayers
Please keep the Olson, Kostka and Stultz families in your prayers.  While many gather and celebrate Christmas with rich family traditions, these families gather aware of their missing loved ones this season.

Prayer for the Week
Lord, God with us.  In these days of lights and presents, may we see you again with new eyes. May we feel your presence in the darkness. May we see your grace in the gifts of forgiveness and reconciliation that are offered to us and that we extend to those we’ve hurt. Continue to come to us so that we are no longer surprised by your love.  Be with the world in which we live—still divided by wars and rumors of war, still living in fear of wicked kings and their evil designs, still seemingly powerless against hate, ignorance and intolerance. AMEN.
